Sometimes life throws unexpected twists our way, forcing us to redirect plans and resources. This week, the funds I had carefully set aside for my business were unexpectedly needed for a water heater replacement and, and family holiday gifts. I also need a new laptop for my business.
These life circumstances left me feeling disappointed, tired, and unseen. My business matters deeply to me—it’s a calling, a passion—and yet it felt like my plans were once again placed on the back burner. The timing didn’t help either. I was already processing the unexpected passing of the father of my son’s girlfriend, a heartbreaking loss that added a layer of sadness to the week.
But even in the chaos and disappointment, I saw God’s hand at work. Yes, the water heater failed prematurely, but the scope of water damage to our home was limited. For that, I was grateful. I was also thankful for the funds to replace the water heater and for homeowner insurance to cover the remediation and restoration work. What could have been a much bigger disruption was met with God’s provision, and I didn’t lose sight of that.
I also felt grateful for the time freedom to accommodate the workers handling the initial incident, installation, and the necessary remediation. It reminded me how even during setbacks, God creates moments of grace and provision. Still, to be transparent, this setback did sting. Venting my frustrations to my husband, I silently wondered if he fully understood how much this matters to me. My husband is one of my biggest supporters, but at that moment, it didn’t feel like it. My plans felt invisible. I felt invisible. But here’s the beauty in all this—I was able to be honest with God. I laid my petty feelings, frustrations, and disappointment at His feet, and He listens.
His faithfulness is unwavering. Even when life feels delayed or derailed, I never feel disappointed in God. This morning, I needed encouragement. I felt stretched thin, overwhelmed, and taken for granted. Then a small, unexpected blessing arrived—a heartfelt text from my husband, thanking me for all I do for our family. It reminded me that, even when I don’t feel seen, love is there.
Still, I needed more to lift my spirit. So, as I got in my car, I turned to my playlist. Song after song, joy began to wash over me. It was as if God Himself handpicked the music, knowing what my soul needed. My car transformed into a sanctuary—a place of praise, worship, and release. The weight I carried no longer felt so heavy.
By the time I reached my destination, my perspective had shifted. My car had become my prayer room, my heart was lifted, and I refused to let disappointment steal my joy. God, in His infinite love, reminded me that He is always there—always faithful, always ready to respond to my cries.
The truth is, we all have moments when life circumstances get us down. This season, with its unique pressures and expectations, can make those moments feel even heavier.
But here’s the key: We don’t have to stay down. For me, the source of my strength and peace is the Lord. When life feels like it’s piling up, I know where to turn. His presence, His promises, and the simple moments of worship renew my spirit and remind me of what truly matters. If you’re feeling overwhelmed today, I encourage you to pause and look for the blessings—even the small ones—hidden in the chaos. Perhaps it’s God’s provision when you need it most. Perhaps it’s a moment of grace, a song, or a heartfelt message that lifts you up.
Even in what may seem like a setback, God’s faithfulness shines through. His presence brings peace, His love restores joy, and His provisions remind us that we are never alone. So, when life feels uncertain, turn to Him.
You are seen. You are loved. And joy is still there—waiting for you to receive it. God is always faithful, and He is always there.
